HTM 485 Senior Seminar students spend the day in Honolulu. They visited the Hawaii Convention Center in the morning to learn about careers as event and convention managers. Next was a working lunch at Y. Hata & Co. and a tour of their food warehouse and Chef Zone store. The meal was incredible, similar to dining at an elegant restaurant. The day finished up with a tour at two iconic hotels on Waikiki Beach, the Sheraton Waikiki and the Royal Hawaiian.


Marriott's Chris Tatum Presents at Akamai Lecture Series. Chris Tatum, Area Vice President for Marriott in Hawaii offered insights on the industry, the Marriott-Starwood merger, and the key performance measures used in the hotel business.
